The Shed Show - Series One wraps up tonight. Make sure you tune into C31 at 6pm or catch it on our YouTube channel or get the link on Facebook at 6.30pm. This week we revisit old mates Neil & Roberto. There was so much goodness we couldn’t squeeze it all into their previous segments. We meet Rachel and her kids, who have turned their shed and hobby into a funky backyard business. Plus we tip our hats to Russ and his jam packed shed of collectibles, almost all exclusively sourced from the local tip. Tune in for a great show!
It has been an interesting journey creating The Shed Show each week. Sometimes a long and sleepless one for PK. However, we are extremely grateful for the support and positive response the show has received. Thank you. C31, bless their hearts, gave us the 'green light' mid-July for 6 episodes starting on-air from the 31st of August. And so, from an idea and no budget, we set about creating a show that celebrates 'all things shed', in particular the people and personalities that give sheds their soul and character. We created enough content for 8 episodes from the initial sheds we visited, except we were short a 'Shed Session'...so Gladdy and I (as the 'Whisky Lizards') have stepped up to the microphone and hopefully not devalue the now infamous 'Shed Session', in this week’s 'Finale' show.
PK asked me to share my highlights but I cannot single one out. All have been fabulous and everyone so welcoming. I’ve mentioned previously we have been treated like family and I reckon that is what sheds do. They provide a connection, where everyone is equal and that’s the magic. From the expanse of the Great Aussie Beer Shed to the intimacy of the backyard sheds at the homes of Wal, Jack, Crom, Rachel and Gladdy. Each and every shed has contained something special.
The well is deep and the possibilities endless; there are so many sheds to visit and feature on future episodes of The Shed Show. To do that we need to recalibrate and find a way to produce the show which gives us time to travel and visit sheds, then time to edit the show and keep the social media rolling...without it costing our homes and sanity. The irony is both PK and I may end up living in our sheds, me with my pooches and in a bizarre twist, broke and lonely but strangely happy. Seriously, we believe a sponsor will realise the potential to grow with The Shed Show, allowing them to reach their target market and in the process keep everyone happy.
On behalf of PK and myself, I want to thank you all for being a part of The Shed Show. PK will be posting highlights and segments during the 'off season'. Make sure you keep shedding the love with your friends, keep sending pics of your sheds, sharing ideas (and recipes) so we can include them in the next series of The Shed Show.
Keep smiling,
Cheers W.
